*2015/08/21 - People & Pictorial competition
Hey everyone!!!
As always, I you're doing great!
Last Friday was the most recent photo contest at the Cleveland Photographic Society. This contest was split in to 2 categories. People, and Pictorial (being any photo of any type)
Although portrait photography is still very new to me, I rented out a studio and had a little fun! A few hours with some good friends makes for a decent use of time! I captured many photos during this shoot that I've used a few times for different photos.
2015-08-21 - People Competition - 24/27"Breezy" - 2nd Place
"Breezy" - Second Place - People Competition
My friend with an industrial fan drying out her contact lenses for a good cause... art!
2015-08-21 - People Competition - 22/27"Not-so Picasso" - Honroable Mention
"Not-so Picasso" - Honorable Mention - People Competition
If you squint a little, the nose looks like it could belong to either gal! I hope to recreate this shot at some point in the future!
2015-08-21 - Pictoral Competition - 21/27"Ready for Take-off" - Did Not Place
"Ready for Take-off" - Did Not Place - Pictorial Competition
Although one of the judges called this photo "boring", I greatly disagree! But as you all know, art is subjective, and is open for interpretation.
I took this photo from the top of the silos at the mouth of the Cuyahoga river!
If you'd like to see any technical data on how I took any of these shots, I've made a blog that goes deeper in to the technical aspects: 2015-08-21-people-pictorial technical info
I wish you the greatest in all that you do!
Thanks for your time!
Warm regards,
Dan S.
